You can take action to reduce the number of telemarketing and robocalls you get.
1. Make sure you have placed your number on the Do Not Call Registry at www.donotcall.gov. ;

- You can register both cell phones and land lines.
- To register by telephone, call 1-888-382-1222 (TTY: 1-866-290-4236).
- You must call from the phone number that you want to register.
- To register online (donotcall.gov), you will have to respond to a confirmation email.
2. Know how to block numbers on your landline phone plan.
3. If you get a real person calling, if they are legit, they must stop calling you if you say “Place me on your no call list”. The magic words are in the statute and the violations can trigger hefty statutory penalties.
4. If you get a repeat call from an organization, you can file their number at the abuse number complaint page at the Do Not Call Registry.
